AGMA Gearmotor Load Classifications  

The AGMA rated parallel (helical) gearmotors in this catalogue fall under three Service Classes: I, II or III.

Class I: Minimum 1.0 Service Factor:
 
This Class refers to gearmotors that can operate under steady loads that do not exceed the normal rating and 8-10 hours of running time per day.
Class II: Minimum 1.4 Service Factor:
 
This Class refers to gearmotors that can operate under steady loads that do not exceed the normal rating and 24 hours of running time per day.
 
    OR:
 
A gearmotor that can operate under moderate shock loads not exceeding 1.25 times the rated load torque and 8-10 hours of running time per day.
Class III: Minimum 2.0 Service Factor:
 
This Class refers to gearmotors that can operate under moderate shock loads to a maximum of 1.25 times the rated load torque and 24 hours of running time per day.
 
    OR:
 
A gearmotor that can operate under heavy shock loads in excess of 1.25 times the rated load torque and 8-10 hours of running time per day.
